Learning & Development

We have a commitment to providing quality learning, development, and training for our staff and our volunteers.

Our Learning & Development team work to improve the knowledge and skills of everyone in our organisation.

Equipped with an internal staff team of experts who teach our staff various skills, as well as partnering with external development providers, Capability Scotland delivers learning on any skill our people may be interested in as well as the core training needed to perform their roles in an exceptional way. If we want our staff to be exceptional, we need to teach them exceptionally.

We use a blended model of learning and development, combining digital learning, classroom training, and in-role development.

Recently, we have invested in an e-learning platform which provides our people a way to learn in an environment and time that is of their choosing. We are dedicated to continuously improving our e-learning, and always welcome feedback on this.

As well as extensive online learning courses, our classroom training offers hands on, practical experiences for our people and these are taught by experts in their fields and experts in care and support.

The Learning and Development team are also responsible for providing our staff's SVQ training. Whether this is a Support Worker completing their SVQ 3, or a senior Manager completing their modules, we are there to support them every step of the way.
