People who asked for our help...

Hamish is a wheelchair user who recently visited a restaurant.  He contacted the Advice Service because there was no accessible toilet in the restaurant.  We told him about the Equality Act and gave him advice about contacting the restaurant to discuss this.

"I was being moved from Incapacity Benefit to Employment and Support Allowance. I called the Advice Service for information about how this process works. The advice worker gave me a general overview, tips for completing the new forms and found a local support agency."

Irene was unable to get an electric scooter from the Wheelchair and Seating Service or Motability.  We gave her information about possible sources of funding including a personalised list of trusts and charities, along with information about how to make applications.
