Our service

Advice and Support West Lothian provides a number of services to disabled people living in the area:

Peer Counselling

Capability Scotland offers a free, confidential and accessible peer counselling service for disabled people.   A disabled counsellor will give you the time and opportunity to express your feelings and explore ways of dealing with them.  The service works within the ethical codes and guidelines of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland.  You can contact the service directly yourself or a professional such as a GP or Occupational Therapist can refer you to the service. If you want more information about the service or speak to the counsellor informally, then please give us a ring or pop in to see us.

As a locally based service we can provide relevant up-to-date information about what services and support is available nearby as well as further afield.  No matter what your enquiry our experienced staff will try to get the information you need, whether that be where you can hire a wheelchair, where to buy disability equipment or supply a RADAR key.

Advice and Support

Capability Scotland can offer advice and support around a range of disability related issues.  If there is a situation or problem you are dealing with our trained staff can talk through potential options and help you consider what the best solution could be.  We can provide practical support with things like sourcing funding for adapted equipment or applying for a blue badge.  No matter what your enquiry is, we will do our best to help you get the help and support you need.
