When you write a will, you want to ensure that your money will go somewhere meaningful. In most cases, this will be to your family and friends. But you may also want to set something aside as a gift for Capability Scotland.
Every pound you leave to us will help disabled people to enjoy a better quality of life – from achieving greater independence to taking part in educational and sporting activities.
How to include Capability in your will
Making or changing a will is much easier than many people think – although if you’re making a will for the first time it is probably best to talk to a solicitor. If you already have a will and want to update it, the simplest way is to add a codicil. This is like a p.s. (postscript) to your will. Adding a codicil is fairly straightforward, although again you may want to talk to your solicitor.
Some people like to specify what a charity will do with the money they leave. You can, if you like, choose to leave money specifically to one of the services we offer.
If you do add Capability Scotland to your will please include our registered charity number. We are registered in Scotland with the number SC011330.
