Capability aims to supports parents and families through difficult times

8 December 2011

A report was published today about a seminar organised by About Families and Capability Scotland aimed at developing services to support families affected by disabilities through relationships breakdown.

The event, called Together and Apart: Your Ideas for action, Using evidence to inform how we support families with disabilities, was held in November and focussed on the topic report Together and Apart: supporting families through change. The event looked at how research can inform how parents can be supported to maintain healthy relationships during difficult times through services.

Participants from around Scotland and across sectors were invited to get involved and share ideas on how to develop services based on research evidence and how new services could be developed to meet the changing needs of  parents and families.

About Families is a partnership between the Centre for Research on Families and Relationships (CRFR), Parenting Across Scotland (PAS) and Capability Scotland.

To contribute your ideas about how your services could be further developed to support parents and families, please fill in the Your Ideas for Action form and send it to Katrina Reid katrina.reid@ed.ac.uk
