Capability Scotland invites you to go the distance with Steve Cram
26 June 2012
Capability Scotland is looking for runners around Scotland to join one of the UK's most legendary athletes, Steve Cram - as he retraces the steps of his 1986 Commonwealth Gold 800m success.
We have launched an online competition to give 20 lucky
winners the opportunity to run with the former world record holder
and Clydesdale Bank Ambassador at Meadowbank Stadium.
The competition winners will join Steve for the 800m run on
Monday 16th July between 2pm and 4pm.
Anyone interested in this once-in-a lifetime opportunity should
enter the draw before the 6th July. Even if you don't
win, you could still get the chance to come along on the day to
meet Steve, cheer on the runners and take part in a question and
answer session.
Commenting on the event Steve said: "I am really
looking forward to meeting the runners at what is sure to be a fun
event. Hopefully it will also be an opportunity to raise
awareness of the great work Capability Scotland does in supporting
disabled adults and children across Scotland."
Capability Scotland Fundraiser, Suzanne O Hara,
said: "We are delighted that a a legend like Steve Cram has given
his time to Capability Scotland. We hope as many people as
possible will take advantage of this fabulous opportunity to run
alongside a sporting hero."
