Corseford pupil wins art prize

Nicole Vallery, a pupil at Capability's Corseford School, has been celebrating after being awarded the runner-up prize in the Afasic National Year of Communication Art Competition, in January.

The competition which aimed at highlighting the importance of communication ran in November 2011 and was themed around "Support and Friendship" and what it meant to the entrant.

Nicole took inspiration for the colours of her piece, named "Joining Together" from her favourite band, JLS. She won a £35 certificate and a small prize for the Corseford's Occupational Therapy department who organised her entry.

Nicole received her reward from Mrs Braekkan, Lead Speech and Language therapist with the school's pupils, press and Nicole's mum in attendance.
