Thank you Standard Life
Our two year joint partnership with Scope and Standard Life came to an end on 31st July 2016.
The partnership was launched in August 2014 with the aim of supporting disabled people across the UK.
Over the past two years staff from Standard Life have taken part
in a huge range of fundraising and volunteering activity from
running, cycling and abseiling events to bake sales and selling
cook books in their offices. 64 members of staff played a key role
in the success of the Edinburgh Kiltwalk event in 2015 raising over
£26,000 for Capability Scotland and in June this year 17
enthusiastic participants raised over £7,000 through the gruelling
Rob Roy Challenge.
Teams also took part in our Battleshops challenge, gave up their
time to volunteer at our services, arranged stock collections in
their offices for our shops and organised a children's Christmas
Capability Scotland has also benefited from Standard Life's
technical expertise throughout the partnership. In 2015
Standard Life seconded a User Experience Analyst to undertake a 3
month User Research Review of our website. In addition, two cohorts
of the Emerging Leaders Development Support Programme undertook
reviews and made promotional recommendations for our schools and
Since August 2014, Standard Life has raised £588,759.41 across
Standard Life's Chief People Officer Sandy Begbie said: "This is a
fantastic total for our people to have raised and well done to
everyone for their hard work. Whether it was baking, running,
walking, cycling, or providing support through their own skills and
expertise, the commitment of Standard Life employees across
the organisation has been fantastic. This donation will
support disabled people and their families across the UK by
providing life changing information, support and advice from
childhood into adulthood."
Capability Scotland Chief Executive, Dana O'Dwyer, said "We are
absolutely delighted with the success of our partnership with
Standard Life. It has been an incredible two years and
Standard Life staff have provided fantastic support through
fundraising and volunteering in our shops and services. Their
support will make a real impact on Capability Scotland's services
supporting disabled people across Scotland."
