Speaking about her appointment; Ms O'Dwyer said: "I look forward to leading Capability into the future and, with everyone who is part of the organisation, taking on the challenges we will undoubtedly face.I have already been impressed by Capability's commitment to placing the customer at the heart of the organisation, whether it is in recruitment, developing and delivering quality services or campaigning for changes that will make a real and positive impact to the lives of disabled people. I know that there is much more waiting to impress me as I get to know the organisation and the people who are a part of it better".

Commenting on the new appointment Ron Fox, Capability's Chair added:

"I am delighted that Dana will be joining Capability as our new Chief Executive. She brings with her a wealth of experience and a true commitment to the work we do both as a provider of services and as a campaigning organisation.

"With the economic downturn, there have been many challenges to face in recent yearsbut under the leadership of our retiring Chief Executive, Alan Dickson, we have met those challenges head on. I know that Dana will provide equally strong leadership in the future, whilst also developing and building on all that has gone before.

"Ultimately our vision is the same: to be a major ally in supporting disabled people to achieve full equality and to have choice and control of their lives by 2020. Dana and everyone at Capability will continue to work tirelessly to realise this vision."
