Wedding Day Memories
13 February 2017
Rory and Ailsa Telfer from Edinburgh asked their wedding guests to make a donation to Capability Scotland instead of giving presents. Their incredibly kind gesture was in memory of Rory's sister, Mirren, who passed away in 2014, aged just 20.
Rory explains:"Mirren was born with cerebral palsy but she
always had friends and family around her who made sure she lived as
unrestricted a life as possible and in her short time she lived and
travelled all over and had a rich and happy life. Our reason
for supporting Capability Scotland is the work they do in ensuring
that disabled people can have access to the support and
opportunities they deserve.
We had an amazing wedding day at Prestonfield House. We had 140
guests during the day and more in the evening -even the December
weather was kind! Ailsa and I are delighted that our wedding guests
were so supportive in remembering Mirren".
Rory and Ailsa's guests raised over £5000 towards our services
supporting disabled people in Scotland - an amazing total -thank
you so much.
