Thrill seekers wanted to ride the rapids
19/02/2008
One of the country’s leading disability organisations, Capability Scotland is looking for adrenaline junkies to come and ride the rapids and help raise funds to support disabled people of all ages throughout Scotland.
This white water rafting event is taking place on Sunday 2nd March 2008 in Perthshire. The route begins in the old market town of Aberfeldy and follows the River Tay round to Grandtully – where the rapids promise a thrilling experience for all rafters.
Anyone can sign up for this exciting event as no experience is required. All equipment and training is provided on the day, allowing participants to enjoy the adventure of a lifetime.
The event costs £20 per person. Teams may also enter – a full raft which takes eight people cost £160. Each participant is asked to raise a minimum sponsorship of £150.
Commenting on the event, Capability Scotland fundraiser Tumong To said: “This is a really exciting and fun day out. We have got a good number of people signed up already but we still have a few places on offer. This is a great opportunity to enjoy a thrilling adventure and raise money for Capability Scotland at the same time.
If you would like to sign up for the Ride the Rapids event or require more information please contact Tumong To on 0131 347 1044 or e-mail Tumong.to@capability-scotland.org.uk
