Inspiring Innovation

At Corseford School we are committed to using the latest assistive technology to support the education and independence of our young people .

Assistive Technology is of special importance at Corseford as many pupils depend on it for communication, reading and learning.  Assistive Technology is also vital to promoting independence as it supports pupils to use their Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) systems, control their smart wheelchairs and operate environmental control systems.

We work together to ensure that our pupils have the correct support to enable them to access the curriculum. The school can also provide advice to parents on appropriate hardware and software for their child.

Learning is based on Curriculum for Excellence requriements with pupils being encouraged to transfer skills and knowledge to other areas.

Our team have specialist skills in the use of the most up-to-date hardware and software for pupils with additional support needs, including Eye Gaze technology.  iPads add interactive software to offer pupils a rich assistive technology experience.
