Capability Scotland needs volunteers of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to help deliver many of the services we provide. Our volunteers are ages 14 and upwards and there is no such thing as a typical volunteer! We currently have over 500 volunteers doing various roles, all with one thing in common. They have an interest in people with disabilitie and bringing a new dynamic to the life’s of our service users as well as raising awareness and helping shape the landscape of Disability.
We have various opportunities around the country you could be involved in including:
- Administration
- Befriending
- Beauty Therapy
- Charity Shops
- Classroom Activities
- Computer Support
- Day Centre Activities i.e. art, cooking and music groups.
- Drama
- Driving
- Fundraising
- Gardening
- Play and activity schemes
- Reading
- Research
- Sport
We aim to match your interests with the needs of our Service Users. In most cases we can fit in with your availability, training and support are offered and we’ll pay your out of pocket expenses.
We require you to complete an application form and a Disclosure Scotland check. We can give you a record of your volunteering and can provide references for college or future employment. No special skills or experience are required – just a willingness to get involved!
So what are you waiting for? Feel free to contact Suzanne O'Hara if you would like any further information.
