Accessible Short Breaks
Starting October 2011, Capability Scotland will be running a
series of residential 'themed activity' short breaks for children
and young people from 5-18 years old.
The activity weeks will be taking place at Capability's Stanmore
House School, near Lanark, which is situated in the heart of the
Clyde Valley and within easy commuting distance of Edinburgh and
Glasgow.
The School is located in an ideal position to explore many local
visitor attractions including New Lanark World Heritage site and Strathclyde Country Park.

Accomodations
The Stanmore bungalow, situated within the school's grounds, is
equipped and specifically adapted to supporting young people with
complex needs.
Activities
Activities include:
- Creative use of Assistive technologies
- Music and Performance workshops
- Fun with film and music
- Developing skills in ICT
- Evening entertainment and activities
What we will provide
- Skilled staff in key areas of communications

- a close working relattionship with families and professionals
to ensure your child's needs are met
- 24-hour nursing presence on site
- a flexible and responsive care team
- support through Assistive Technology.
Costs
Capability Scotland has received funding to cover most of the
costs, however a nominal fee of £100 per participant will be
required.
