Corseford School
Corseford School's motto is "Chasing the Challenge."
We aim to do this by providing a safe, secure and stimulating
environment in which pupils' needs are met in a holistic manner by
access to integrated programmes of individualised education,
therapy, health and personal support for children aged 5 10 18
years old.
We believe we are successful in this by having:
- Experienced Teaching staff delivering Curriculum for Excellence
at early, first and second levels and Caledonian Awards and
National Qualifications in the Secondary and Post Sixteen
Classes.
- Highly trained, effective support staff ensuring a high pupil:
staff ratio.
- Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech and Language
Therapy delivered by therapists employed by Capability
Scotland.
- Therapy delivered in individual and small group sessions.
- Highly trained Speech and Language Therapists who support
pupils in their use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication
aids.
- Nurses supporting pupils' complex and individual health needs
across the school day.
This was endorsed by HMIe in their Report dated February
2009.
Referrals
Parents / carers are welcome to contact the school at any time
to organise a visit. Some Local Authorities prefer the
Educational Psychologist to also be involved.
The Local Authority will then make a referral on behalf of the
Psychologist. Implicit in the referral is an acceptance of
responsibility for fees and travelling expenses.
