Stanmore House School
Stanmore House School is a grant aided specialist provision in
Lanarkshire for day and residential pupils between the ages of 5
and 18 who have severe and complex needs.
We strive to build a learning community which enables every
pupil to access the appropriate curriculum with excellent
educational opportunities through our holistic approaches to
education, therapy, medical support and care.
The interdisciplinary approach involving teaching, speech and
language therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, nursing,
classroom assistants and care work hand in hand supporting children
and young people fulfil their potential. We support pupils
through individualised education planning in line with a curriculum
for excellence as well and offering national qualifications and
ASDAN modules.
A whole school culture of consultation and choice-making is
encouraged within the school through the active pupil council
supported by staff.
Within the school 16 pupils progress through a transition
programme aimed at further developing their confidence, and
levels of independence in life skills as they embark on their
future destination weather it be collage, day provisions,
residential or home.
