You can help change the lives of disabled people, and their families, across Scotland.
Attitudes to disability have changed a lot since Capability Scotland was established in 1946, but there's still a long way to go until disabled people achieve full equality.
With your help, Capability Scotland is supporting disabled people to reach their potential - at school, at work and at home.
With so many ways to get involved, why not find out more about how you can help?
• Over half of households which include a disabled person are surviving on an income of less than £15,000 a year, (yet it costs, on average, three times more to bring up a disabled child than a non-disabled child.)• One in five disabled Scots has experienced harassment because of their disability.• Of the working-age population, 45% of disabled people are in employment, compared to 82% of non-disabled people.
We work with disabled people across Scotland to influence Government policy, legislation, practice and attitudes.
Across our 19 shops we sell high quality, low cost clothing, household items, toys, books and furniture to help support the wider work of Capability Scotland.
