How You Can Help

You can help change the lives of disabled people, and their families, across Scotland.

Attitudes to disability have changed a lot since Capability Scotland was established in 1946, but there's still a long way to go until disabled people achieve full equality.

With your help, Capability Scotland is supporting disabled people to reach their potential  -  at school, at work and at home.

With so many ways to get involved, why not find out more about how you can help?

Service users on an outing

Did you know?

• Over half of households which include a disabled person are surviving on an income of less than £15,000 a year, (yet it costs, on average, three times more to bring up a disabled child than a non-disabled child.)
• One in five disabled Scots has experienced harassment because of their disability.
• Of the working-age population, 45% of disabled people are in employment, compared to 82% of non-disabled people.
