Battleshops is Capability Scotland's takeover challenge which aims to raise awareness of our organisation, generate stock for our shops and encourage fundraising to further support our work. It is ideal for corporate organisations who are looking for something a bit different for a team building day.

The challenge encourages a bit of healthy competition between teams while testing their creative, design and entrepreneurial skills.  Each team will take over one of our charity shops and battle it out to take the most money on the day.  The winner is the team who increases their shop sales by the most against last year.

Battleshops - the rules

Teams of up to 5 people will be matched to one of our shops.  There are three elements which make up your overall total:

. Collecting stock - in the lead up to your takeover your tasks is to collect as many bags of stock as you can. Get colleagues, friends, family and neighbours to help. We challenge every team member to collect at least 10 bags of stock, so rope in your friends, family and colleagues and get everyone to have that wardrobe clear out they've been promising themselves for months!

. Fundraising - each team should organise fundraising activities in the lead up to their take over. We set a target of £500 per team. All fundraising will go towards your teams overall total!

. Takings on the day - your team's aim will be to beat the takings from the same day last year. This is your chance to get creative with window displays, run a tombola with prizes you've sourced in the run up, dress up and shake a collection bucket or break out the trusted home baking!

Your team total will be based on number of bags collected + fundraised income + takings through the till. The team with the highest total wins Battleshops!
