As a Community Living Assistant you will support customers with tasks associated with day-to-day living.  You will provide a range of support from intensive 24/7 support enabling customers to live independently in their homes through to providing support to access the local community.  You will help build confidence and raise self-esteem and will be required to provide personal care (including intimate care) and support customers with aspects of general welfare.

The role involves a degree of physical activity which includes pushing wheelchairs and it also involve health related practices including mealtime assistance and administration of medication where required.

Key Requirements

  • Experience of working in a similar role and environment
  • Willingness to undertake any personal development opportunities.
  • A care related SVQ Level 3 (or the willingness to gain this qualification in a given timescale).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
  • Full Driving Licence* (we will consider alternative arrangements that achieve the same outcomes for candidates that have a disability that prevents them from having a driving licence)
  • Able and willing to work flexible shifts including weekends, sleepovers and may also involve lone working
