The Service

The Service works with individuals and groups throughout Dumfries and Galloway to support people between the ages of 16 and 65 who have a physical disability to engage with employment, education, training, volunteering and leisure opportunities within their own community.

We are currently looking to recruit a Support Worker to provide an innovative, flexible, person centred facilitation service based on individual assessed needs. You will also be required to undertake a key working role and assist the Service Manager to maximise customer outcomes. The role involves lone working.

The role involves a degree of physical activity which includes pushing wheelchairs and providing physical support to our customers.

This post is for 21 hours per week on a permanent basis. Whilst our administrative office is in Dumfries, this post will be based in Nithsdale.

Key Requirements

  • Experience of working in a similar role and environment,
  • Willingness to undertake any personal development opportunities.
  • A care related SVQ Level 3 (or the willingness to gain this qualification in a given timescale).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
  • Full Driving Licence and access to a car are essential due to the nature of the role.
