About Fife Community Based Services

Fife Community Based Services provides Supported Living & Care at home support for 15 customers (service users) living in four locations.  Each of the four teams provide 24-hour care and practical support to our customers living in their own homes. Our aims are to promote independence, ensure our customers are empowered while ensuring they are safe and protected, and to provide a cutting edge service which is outcomes focused.

Our customers have a range of different needs including learning and physical disabilities and may include; Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Learning difficulties, Communication difficulties, visually impaired and mental health issues. The majority of our customers have their own motability vehicle, all Capability employees are covered by our insurance.

Many of our customers have strong links with family/parents who visit on weekly basis, and maintaining strong links with staff is equally important. Each team within Fife CBS has a Team Leader in service to provide supervision and mentoring. We have an On-Call emergency system in place for Emergency's support in the service out with standard 9-5pm Manager working hours. All staff work in teams alongside one other and we operate a shift pattern system (8hr shifts) with 2 days off each week. Rota management is prepared months in advance, which allows staff to plan.

A comprehensive training program is in place for all staff and often training takes place at our Dunfermline office.
