About our School

The Service at Stanmore supports children and young people who have complex additional support and exceptional health care needs. The service has the capacity to assess and meet the holistic, educational, allied health and social care needs of children and young people whenever those needs arise throughout the whole year. We place a significant emphasis on Getting it Right for Every Child by placing them and their families at the centre of every aspect of their care.

We are looking to recruit a full-time Teacher at Stanmore House who is able to adapt their teaching style to meet the needs and abilities of individual children. This is a maternity cover post and is expected to run until June 2020. You will be required to offer a varied curriculum, following Curriculum for Excellence and linked to standards in mainstream schools, National 1, 2 and 3. You will join a team of supportive classroom staff and have access to some of the latest technology.

Key Requirements

  • Registered with the GTCS
  • Knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence and GIRFEC
  • Have experience of working with children with additional support needs is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
  • Willingness to undertake any personal development opportunities.
