Scope and Capability Scotland both grew out of an expertise in Cerebral Palsy and continue to collaborate, with Scope working in England and Wales and Capability in Scotland.

Capability Scotland is a key and lead member of the Scottish Campaign on Welfare Reform (SCoWR), a unique coalition of over sixty organisations which has been campaigning since 2006 for a better welfare benefits system.

Capability Scotland is a founder of Communication Forum Scotland (CFS), an alliance of organisations representing people of all ages with varied communication support needs. CFS campaign for increased understanding of the diversity of communication support needs and improved communication support provision.
