About Craigmillar Services

Our newly designed Craigmillar Hub aims to offer different experiences and flexibility to individuals with disabilities and complex support needs. At our Hub, we offer accessible arts through the art room and gallery as well as assistive and augmentative technology through the digital suite. In addition, we support individuals within the community to access various sports and recreational facilities to meet their identified outcomes. We are looking for three Community Living Assistants for 30 hours a week as well as members of staff for our Relief pool.

We support individuals with all aspects of daily life.  It is an exciting time for us as we develop our new services and we are looking for staff to be part of the team. This may mean flexibility in terms of location, focus and deployment, including the willingness to work flexible shifts; this may in the future include evenings and weekends. However, as we develop, currently these hours would be during the day, Monday to Friday.

You will also assist our customers with some physical work; including pushing wheelchairs or helping individuals move around when needed.

  • Some experience may be beneficial but we want to see passion, enthusiasm and new ideas: not necessarily years of service - however if you have both then great!
  • The ability to enable others to be as independent as possible, to assist with things rather than do it for them.
  • desire for self-improvement and willing to develop your skills with our help
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
  • A driving licence is useful but not required.
  • Able and willing to work flexible shifts, which we are happy to discuss for mutual agreement.
