About Our Schools

Capability Scotland has two Grant Aided Special Schools; Stanmore House School in Lanark and Corseford School in Johnstone. Both Schools provide education to 30 learners and also provide residential and respite services. In addition to teaching staff, the schools have a dedicated care and allied health team to support our children and young people.

About the Role

We are at an exciting stage in terms of both our education provision and our strategic journey. We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Development Officer to explore, analyse and take forward a Early Learning and childcare provision. The successful applicant will have a background in the field of Care, Education or Further Education, and in partnership be able to develop a sustainable practice model for the organisation.

Applications from candidates who would require flexible work options would be welcomed. As part of this role, there will be a requirement to travel throughout the wider central belt.

This is a fixed term post ending March 2022.

Key Requirements

  • Proven track record within a relevant sector
  • Knowledge of supporting children with complex additional support needs
  • Ability to influence and forge strong working relationships
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences including colleagues, families and other strategic partners
  • Relevant qualification
  • Full Driving Licence* (we will consider alternative arrangements that achieve the same outcomes for candidates that have a disability that prevents them from having a driving licence)
