Costa Del Corseford

Pupils at Capability Scotland's Corseford School felt like they had travelled to sunnier climes as they enjoyed a Spanish Fun Day.

The school were joined by pupils from a local primary school for a day packed with Spanish holiday themed activities including; Spanish cooking lessons in the schools adapted kitchen and piñata in the outdoor classroom.  Pupils were also be able to spend their 'euros' at the Spanish market and dip their toes in the water at the sensory beach,

Corseford languages teacher, Maggie MacAskill said the pupils enjoyed  a fun-filled day: She commented: "The Spanish Fun Day really brought Spain to life for the students, allowing them to put into practice skills they have been developing across the curriculum including language, numeracy and information technology."

Corseford School provides specialist education as well as allied health care to children and young people with additional support needs.  Last year the school won a Scottish Education Award in the Making Language Come Alive category for its innovative approach to teaching languages in the school.
