Garden Award

2 April 2019

Customers from Whitehaugh and West Lane Gardens were delighted to be presented with Horticultural Awards at Johnstone Town Hall.

Garden Award

David Knott, Honorary President from The Caley and Jean Gavin, Grow and Learn Development Officer presented the group with certificates recognising their achievements in Horticulture.

Over the past year they have all been working hard towards achieving their portfolios. 4 Customers received the initial 'Roots' Award with another 7 receiving the next stage 'Nurture' Award.

"I was proud and delighted to be part of such an important event recognising the achievement of so many of our customers. They have all worked so hard in developing the Garden area at West Lane Gardens, both aesthetically and the production of fruit and veg. I have also had the added pleasure of tasting the fruits of their labour."

Meghan McEwan, Service Manager

"It was such a pleasure to present Grow and Learn awards to all the gardeners at Westlane Gardens. They have worked incredibly hard in achieving their awards, and should be very proud indeed of all that they have achieved."

Jean Gavin, Grow and Learn Development Officer

"In all my years of involvement in Horticulture and gardening I have not met a scheme that encourages, supports and rewards it's student in the way the Grow and Learn does."
