About Our Service

Upper Springland is a large and diverse service which provides individualised person-centred residential, day and respite services to adults with disabilities. Upper Springland comprises of 48 studio rooms with en-suite facilities, six additional residential places for people with more profound disability, a six-bedded respite facility and The Studio, a day service. We provide support to our customers for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Do you want to make a real difference to people's lives?

We are currently recruiting for a Support Worker to provide one to one support to a young adult female customer with a passion for making a difference to the lives of disabled people. This customer has been involved in projects to improve accessibility of concerts, public transport and disabled facilities. They will continue to be involved in such activities and this role would support this passion.

This customer has funding for 6 hours per week. They would like to use this time as two 6 hour shifts and the rest of time will be divided across shorter sessions of meetings and hydrotherapy to be discussed at interview. You will be required to support this customer to attend meetings and audits across Perth and the wider area. Personal care, support with general welfare and support accessing the hydrotherapy pool would also be part of this role. This role might suit someone already working for Capability Scotland looking to increase their hours or someone willing to do more hours with other customers.

Key Requirements

  • Experience of working in a similar role and environment is desirable
  • Willingness to support customer to attend campaigning meetings
  • Willingness to undertake any personal development opportunities.
  • A care related SVQ Level 2/3 or the willingness to gain this qualification in a given timescale
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly organised and flexible
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
  • Full Driving Licence is desirable though not essential* (we will consider alternative arrangements that achieve the same outcomes for candidates that have a disability that prevents them from having a driving licence)
