Stanmore Residential and Respite service, based on the Stanmore House School campus just outside Lanark, has up to 20 young people living and learning with complex health, physical and learning disabilities.

We aim to create a positive and supportive environment where young people can develop to achieve their full potential. We have highly skilled care staff and an onsite Allied Health and Nursing team working collaboratively to achieve the best outcomes for young people.

Job Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for a Team Leader on a fixed-term basis to support the Care & Support Manager in the daily operations of our residential component of our school. You will be required to co-ordinate and supervise a team of support staff in delivering excellent standards of social care practice using a person-centred approach that reflects individual customer's needs, wants and aspirations.

A key part of this role is to coach, monitor, mentor and develop the skill base within the staff team, you will do this by displaying Leadership skills such as role modelling, decision making, being an effective communicator, having a positive attitude, commitment and confidence in the role.

You may also be required from time to time to deliver direct support to our customers.

This post is fixed-term until April 2020 with the potential to be extended depending on business needs.

You'll enjoy this role if you have.

  • Previous experience in a supervisory/management role is desired
  • A care related SVQ Level 4 or equivalent or have the ability and willingness to achieve this qualification
  • Full driving licence and access to a car. Capability Scotland is willing to consider alternative arrangements that achieve the same outcomes for those candidates that have a disability which prevents them from having a driving licence
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
